Sleepover

Last weekend we had Austin's cousin's three boys sleepover at our house. We started off the evening with pizza and a scavenger hunt. At the end of the hunt, they found a bowl of treats and How to Train Your Dragon. We watched that and another movie, then the boys all slept out in the living room. In the morning we had crepes for breakfast then Austin took the boys in the back yard and they shot BB guns.

Halloween

We carved pumpkins with my brother, sister, and nephews a few days before Halloween.
Travis started carving a sponge Bob pumpkin, but decided it was too hard and never finished it.
Frasier and Elijah carving their pumpkins.
I spent the whole time helping Bodie carve his pumpkin because he picked a pattern that was a little to hard for him. (p.s. his cheek looks red because he fell that day or the day before.)
We also carved pumpkins with Ashely, Colt, and Rebecca a few days later
Rebecca's pumpkin, Austin's pumpkin, and my pumpkin
On Halloween, Austin and I left the bowl of candy on the floor at the top of the stairs between trick-or-treaters. While we were waiting for the next trick-or-treaters we heard a strange rustling noise and found Lola nosing around in the candy :) Silly rabbit.

Graduation

I graduated with my Ed.S. degree in August. Hooray for being done with school! I don't think I'm ever going back!
My cohort and a few of our professors
Me with my dad and Austin. My mom and granny came too, but I didn't get any pictures with them for some reason.
Paul helped me so much with my thesis- I got it done early and wasn't stressed about it during internship.

Moving & Grandma's Birthday Party

I could say that I haven't updated our blog in awhile because of moving, but it's not true. I just haven't felt like it. We moved in with Kenny, but we're not sure how long we'll be here. Living with Kenny is pretty much like living without Kenny, except that when Austin has to work nights I have someone to eat dinner with, unless Kenny is out of town, which happens semi-often. We miss Idaho just a little bit, but there is so much more going on in Utah- mostly because we have friends and family here. I absolutely love my job! It's so nice to have only two schools to take care of and having an actual office! After work I have been entertaining myself by reading, doing yoga with my friends, hanging out, and getting to play with Austin. He's been spending a lot of time studying for the FSOT and LSAT, but he can always be distracted :) Lola has adjusted very well to moving and loves having a house to run around in. She is very good about going up the stairs, but not very good at going down them. Maybe because there is nothing down there but some empty rooms and her cage.
A few weeks ago we had a family party for my grandma's 80th birthday:

Chelsey, Katie (holding Kristine's baby, Lainey), Kristine, Carol, me, and Shelby

Kristine, Alayna, Rex, and Mom
Austin, Chelsey, Josh (with their baby, Jameson) and Troy
Me and Granny
Bodie and Elijah playing a fun game that Aunt Joan setup
Carol and Elijah playing on the swing set
Aunt Judy swinging with her first grandson, Jameson
Mom holding Alayna's new baby, Sloane
Roxanne and Travis
Chelsey with Jameson, Aunt Judy, and Uncle Rick
Grandma Patty and Grandpa Pat

Seaside, Oregon

We took a trip to Seaside, Oregon last week with my sister Abbey and her boyfriend Andrew, my mom, and our friends, Jake and Cassie. The weather was cool and we did a lot of fun stuff. Some of these pictures were taken at Cannon Beach, where we spent a day shopping and exploring. We went to Tillamook to see their cheese factory and eat ice cream! We also took a day trip to Washington to see some lighthouses. While we were in Seaside we visited the aquarium, found tons of sand dollars, and Austin and I had a romantic dinner at a fancy Italian restaurant. There was also a cat show and a biker's show on the same day in Seaside (strange combination :) The bikers were all over the streets, but sadly enough you had to pay to see the cat show- who is going to pay for that? While we were sitting in our living room one evening, I looked out the window to see a cat walking along the fence, but he was covered by a tree. When he came out of the tree, he was really a raccoon who got a bit scared when we all ran to the window to stare at him. Andrew saw him (or maybe her) with about 5 baby raccoons in the middle of the night. One day while we were looking for sand dollars, Austin saw a seagull with a live crab, which he stole from the seagull and gave to Andrew for dinner. On the last night we were there, we decided to have a bonfire on the beach and Austin, Andrew, and Abbey decided that they should dive in the ocean. We all thought they were crazy and that they would chicken out because it was so cold, but they did it!

Tractoring

While we were at Austin's grandparents' house last time, Austin decided he wanted to drive their old tractor around. It was pretty fun, but we had it in the lowest gear, so it was also really slow.

Camping Trips

We have gone overnight camping twice so far this summer. We went with our friends, Jake and Cassie. The first time we went, we slept in their tent, but the second time Austin decided to build his own shelter. He used a tarp as the top and cardboard and a yoga mat as the floor. It started raining just as we went to bed, but luckily it didn't rain very hard and Austin's shelter was very well constructed, so we didn't get wet at all. We only slept until about 4 am when a bird started making a bunch of noise and Austin sat up saying that he was well-rested (I was okay-rested:). The moon was really bright, so we walked up a dirt road and looked at the stars, then came back to camp and got the fire going again, waiting for our friends to wake up. The best part of camping for Austin is all the chances to use his new axe. He chops fire wood, carves sticks for roasting marshmallows and hot dogs, carves stakes to hold the tarp down....

Dad's Birthday Party

We surprised my dad with a birthday party this weekend. He knew all of the kids were coming, but didn't know that we had invited all of his friends too. I made the birthday cake, Abbey grilled the hamburgers, and everyone else helped out. It was pretty fun and I think Dad loved it. Of course we had to bring Lola along and Abbey takes her dog, Thor, everywhere so we let them meet. Thor was very well behaved and Lola didn't seem to scared.
