25 months

Its already been a month since Heidi turned two! And we are full-swing into the "terrible twos". Heidi is sweet and happy most of the time. She giggles about everything and loves to have fun, but she sure can throw a little tantrum when she doesn't get her way. She is Little Miss Independent and likes to do everything herself, including wandering off wherever she would like to go. I am constantly looking for her in the house because she has disappeared somewhere (I usually find her in a room with the door closed) and once or twice I've gotten a scare because she has wandered off somewhere while we are out. Heidi is the first (hopefully only) child I've had run away from me in a parking lot, laughing (I've learned my lesson and either carry her or put her immediately into a shopping cart).
Heidi's newest favorite activity is getting herself a snack from the refrigerator. We often find her helping herself to string cheese or an apple with the fridge door hanging open. She used to just reach into the drawer and fish around until she found what she wanted, but now she delights in bringing a little chair over, standing in the open refrigerator, and perusing the items she could choose. I typically don't mind her getting her own snack, but sometimes she wants to eat just before a meal (or just after because she'd rather have a snack than eat what was served) and sometimes she leaves the fridge open for an extended time. Silly girl- but she won't have anyone get the snack for her- she can do it herself! Heidi also loves to go potty on the toilet (she especially loves to flush it) and is very proud of herself when she does (although we are still working on getting there before she soils a diaper). She still loves to dress (and constantly undress) herself and is the busiest little body I know.
Here are some pictures of our busy little princess:

This is the bear my dad gave Heidi for her birthday. She loves to sleep with him and was taking care of him by putting him in Trevor's swing and giving him water from her water bottle.
Heidi insisted on dressing herself by wearing this little sweater over a long-sleeved shirt. I was glad when she finally let me take it off because it was too hot for two long layers.
And here is Heidi playing with chalk, which is what she had her mind set on and wouldn't rest until we went outside and did it.

My Birthday and Father's Day

Its become a family tradition to have chocolate waffles with whipped cream and strawberries on birthdays, so the kids were very excited for my birthday. Somehow I only got pictures of Heidi with the waffles, but isn't she cute?

We were also planning on having chocolate chip cookies after dinner, but a friend from church brought over some really pretty cupcakes (they took a little tumble while the boys were bringing them in, so they are a bit smashed in the pictures) so we had those instead.
Since mom's birthday isn't really that exciting unless everyone is celebrating, everyone a candle for their cupcake and got to blow it out. (I'm not sure what Asher was doing in this picture, but he really was very excited)

For Father's Day, I let Austin have his fun cooking with his camping BBQ. The kids had fun helping him cook, but Austin and I were the only ones who really enjoyed the meal (Although Asher made a good effort to pretend that he liked it)

6 Months

Our littlest guy is already half a year old! He slept in his crib through the whole night for the first time last night and it was so nice to get a full-night's sleep! I woke up a little worried about him, but when I peeked in his room he was sleeping soundly and happily. He is starting to take longer naps during the day sometimes too, but his naps are so often disrupted by the other things we have to do like grocery shopping or outings for the older kids that his naps have never been very regular.
Trevor is getting really good with his hands. He loves to swat or grab at anything that comes into his line of sight, so we have to be careful to keep only keep safe things around him. Trevor still looks at me with absolute adoration and very often wants me to carry him around wherever I go. He is extremely social and loves to interact with others. He seems to really like church because all the ladies there love to hold him :)
