In the evening we had a birthday party for him at Aunt Renee's house.
I made some banners for him and his cousins "helped" me hang up crepe paper and balloons
Instead of birthday cake, we just had cupcakes. The theme for the party was "wheels" since Asher loves anything with wheels.
We had lasagna for dinner. Asher's cousins didn't eat very much of it, but he at tons of it--it's one of his favorite meals. After dinner, we had a scavenger hunt to find Asher's presents. Of course, his cousin's had to do all the work, but just seeing the boys get so excited made Asher very excited as we followed them around.
At first he wasn't very interested in his cupcake and just wanted to get out of the high chair. Paul had to blow the candle out for him.
As you can tell, once we put the cupcake in front of him, he became much more interested in it-- he actually ate two :) Luckily, Aunt Renee has a very deep kitchen sink and Asher thought that playing in the water and getting cleaned up was as much fun as eating the cupcakes.
