Carving Pumpkins

We had our annual cousin pumpkin carving. Unfortunately, Cedar and parents weren't able to attend, but we had fun with the other cousins. Grandpa Brent grew 8 pumpkins in his garden, so each of the kids was able to have one. All of the kids except Natalie are almost completely independent, so I just had to help with getting the guts out of hers and carving a few things plus Heidi needed a bit of help getting a few pieces out. We had pizza, soup, and pumpkin cookies. And as always, the kids ended up running around being silly and having fun.

It was so chilly that we had ice and snow on our stairs and Asher was very impressed with himself for blowing steam out during the photo.

October Utah Trip

We went to Utah yet again this year- this time for a wedding. Austin's cousin's oldest son got married, and although Austin wasn't able to go because of a work trip to Indiana, the kids and I were able to go. We also had some fun adventures with my dad and my sister and were able to visit my brother and his family.

As always the kids had plenty of park time while we were staying with my dad. With the perfect fall weather, we also had fun collecting fall "treasures" like leaves and acorns and Natalie arranged them into art.

We visited Kennecott Copper Mine with Aunt Abbey and the kids enjoyed seeing the huge machinery, but I think they were all the most thrilled with taking the shuttle up to the site.

They love my dad's spaghetti more than they like mine, so of course he made that for them.

We went to Antelope Island with my dad and saw a few antelope but a lot more buffalo and went on a few little hikes.

Heidi was much more thrilled to meet some horses. She got to comb them a little and visit with them. She couldn't ride them though because they were already booked for the day.

There was also an old farm turned museum that we got to check out.

We went to all the wedding events, but only got a few pictures. And some of them were out of focus

After the reception, we stopped by to visit Uncle Travis and his family. The kids were so excited to visit their cousin Chanel and although she was a little wary of all the hubbub from so many kids, she eventually warmed up.
