This little sugarplum is 13 months old. His hobbies include digging through the tupperware cupboard, pulling himself up to standing on anything and anyone in his path, putting blocks into a bucket, escaping to climb up the stair if anyone ever accidentally leaves the baby gate off, and searching for his mom if I ever get out of sight. He also loves to socialize with the vacuum cleaner- he loves it and will hoover around it gooing and patting it for hours (which in baby-time translates to about 4 minutes ;) Trevor loves to eat and is constantly making the sign for "more" when he sees anyone eating something that he doesn't have. He'll even make the sign when his face is stuffed full of food, but he wants to make sure its still coming. His eczema has gotten really bad this winter especially as we've had extremely cold weather (single digits as the high- or sometimes negatives as the high- for weeks straight) and the furnace has been on non-stop. His back is the worst, but his arms, legs, tummy, face and head are pretty dry too. You can see a few scratches on his face, because despite my best efforts he scratches all the time. I bathe him in thick lotion several times a day, make sure he's always wearing clothing that prevents him from getting to most of his skin (this usually requires several layers), make him wear socks over his hands at night, have started washing his clothes with no fabric softener, and have even resorted to bleach baths a couple times a week. I was worried that he had an allergy to cow's milk that might worsen the exzema (we've already discovered that he's allergic to peanuts), but I've yet to cut it out of his diet completely since its in so many things that the other kids eat. In the last few days we've had warmer weather and his skin has gotten quite a bit better in just that short time, so I'm pretty sure it's just the dryness of the air because of the furnace that's making it so bad. Unfortunately, really cold temperatures are in the near future, so it looks like I'll be continuing my lotioning and layers of clothing for the next few months.
Trevor is such a delightful little fellow and makes everyone laugh. If any of the other kids are grumpy or disagreeable, I know I can always get them to smile just by having Trevor around them.
