Halloween Cookies and "Spaghetti"

We had the chance to watch our niece and nephews this weekend to give their parents some alone time. Asher always loves playing with his cousins and it was a fun night for all of us. We started out by decorating Halloween cookies. The boys each made their own plate and Austin and Asher just ate the ones that I was making. Luckily our little niece "Panda" was being very good during this time, so we all got to enjoy the cookie decorating.
Ben kept informing us every time he got some frosting on his finger, so we just told him to lick it off (since we weren't giving any to the neighbors or anything). After that I think he was purposely getting frosting on his finger, because it was constantly in his mouth.
We made the cookies before dinner, but didn't let them eat too much before we had soup. The cookies were a great bribe to get them to finish most of their soup. They got really worried when Austin finished his soup first and said he was going to eat all of the cookies if no one else ate.
Paul and Ben made five cookies each. Paul insisted that he was going to eat all five cookies, but after two and a half, he started complaining that his tummy hurt.
Here you can see that eventually Ben moved from licking frosting off his finger to licking frosting off the knife :)

After dinner Austin took the boys into the playroom to entertain them while I held "Panda" and cleaned up the kitchen. Paul had his little lego parts out and Asher started taking them out of the bin and throwing them on the floor. So of course Austin just made a game out of it and told the boys they should throw the parts up in the air and yell "Confetti". All three boys thought this was a hilarious game, but couldn't quite get the word right and kept saying "Spaghetti" instead. They threw the parts all over the room, gathered them all up, then threw them again. It was a huge mess, but Austin got the boys to clean up without any complaining.

While they were cleaning up, Asher decided that he should actually walk (rather than just taking a step or two and then falling down.) He took about 10 steps while he was trying to get to the bin that they were putting the lego parts back into. Austin held it in front of him and moved it along just out of his reach to make him walk for it. After that, he wanted to practice more and walked all over the room several times. Unfortunately, we were both so excited that neither of us thought of making a video. We will try to get one in the next week or so. He is so funny to watch walk and try to keep his balance.
