EIGHT MONTHS

I'm a little late on posting Heidi's 8 month blog post. Her 8 months fell on Austin's birthday so things were busy, I had to work that day, and on top of it all, Heidi had pink eye and wasn't looking so great. These pictures aren't great either- you can still tell which eye had the pink eye in it- its the same one that has a clogged tear duct, so maybe that had something to do with it. The skin on her little cheek got all red and died out too because I was constantly putting a warm washcloth on it trying to wipe the goobers out of it.
Heidi is getting big faster than I like. She got her first tooth a couple of weeks ago and it seems that another one will be coming soon. The boys were fascinated when I told them that Little Miss had a tooth and both wanted to stick their fingers in her mouth to check it out. I made them wash their hands twice before doing it-the extra work was well worth it for them. They are always so excited about anything related to their little sister. Heidi loves solid food some days and isn't at all interested other days. Maybe its just the type of food I'm feeding her, or maybe its just the day. She really seems to like carrots, peas, and rice cereal. She is so-so about butternut squash, zucchini, and sweet potatoes and so far she hasn't liked banana or applesauce. Heidi loves to throw herself onto the ground if she is ever put down in sitting position. She hasn't shown any signs of trying to crawl, but she loves to roll to get around the room. I'm trying to teach the boys to be extra vigilant about leaving out any small toys that she could swallow. They seem to understand the importance and want to do well at it, but its hard for little boys to remember and I keep finding little legos and other toys around. I hope she isn't one to stick anything she finds in her mouth. Heidi has officially started sleeping in her own room. Her nursery was in the extra "wing" of our room, but we have now moved the desk into that area and put her room in what used to be the office. She is sleeping better since I don't jump up at every little noise she makes and she doesn't hear Austin and I coming to bed hours after she went to sleep. Its kind of nice to not have to sneak around our own room trying to get ready for bed.
Heidi is just as sweet and happy as ever and we can't imagine life without her!
