Simcoe Lake Beach

We live near a lake that has a couple nice beaches, so we decided to try one out last week. It definitely is a lake beach and not ocean beach, as you can see from all the rocks in the sand. And this particular beach doesn't have much land before it hits the water, but since we were really the only people there (besides a few kayakers) it was just fine and the kids had so much fun playing in the sand, digging (they said they were mining), running, and splashing! Natalie and I enjoyed sitting in the shade of a big umbrella and watching them. We went pretty early so that we could get back in time for lunch and naps. After they played in the water and sand, we walked to a nearby playground and they played for awhile to dry off a bit before getting back into the car. I didn't have them wear their swimsuits because I told them they couldn't go in deeper than their knees since I was the only adult and couldn't jump in to rescue someone with Natalie in my arms, but they managed to get completely soaked anyway :)

While the kids played at the playground, Natalie and I sat at a picnic table and enjoyed the nice weather!
This is definitely an activity we will be repeating this summer!
