Kate's Birthday Party

Kate, Amanda, Asher, and Cedar (who wasn't able to make it) all have birthdays in July so we celebrated by going ice skating, then having lots of kids' party games at Brent and Kate's house afterward.

Its been awhile since we skated a ton in Canada, so everyone was a little wobbly at first, but they soon remembered all their skills and got better. We had tons of fun and Austin and I even got to skate together a little bit.

Asher, Amanda, and Heidi were having fun racing each other and timing how fast it took them to go around the rink.

The first game we played was a jello eating contest, which I think made everyone feel a little sick to their stomachs.

Asher won because although Austin (the only adult who participated) finished first, because Kate said she was only giving prized to kids.

Next they had an egg relay race, which was really hard for Natalie to get the hang of. All the other kids were done before she had quite figured out what she was supposed to be doing.

Then they had an egg toss, but it wasn't really a competition, just the kids being silly.

Then they had a waterballoon fight,

and a race bouncing across the yard on yoga balls.

Afterward, they had a pinata,

then they played Twister and Bingo.

We finished with pizza and a cake.

It was a bit overwhelming, but the kids had fun (mostly).
